This popular 3-day workshop is now offered on-demand!
Whether it is a fear of numbers, the confusing jargon, or a feeling that you’re behind everyone else, statistics can be overwhelming and intimidating. This workshop is designed for anyone that just wants to understand what the terms mean, needs to know how to calculate statistics for a manuscript, or just wants to understand the papers that are being cited or reviewed. Some participants want to understand information better to relay to students or to understand aspects of research they want to do. Most participants have specific topics they want to understand better - t-tests, what terms like homoscedasticity mean, or how to better present their data as graphs. Others need a full overview because that one stats class they took was a long time ago or didn’t make any sense. We’ll cover:
Common statistics and what they mean
Common statistical tests and what they tell us
Limitations of specific statistics
Everyday words to use instead of statistics jargon
How to explain statistics to others
If there is time, we’ll cover how to do these statistics in paid (SAS, SPSS, STATA) or free (R, Python) software. You’ll also get resources after the workshop to achieve what we discussed in this software and notes to refer back to as you get back to work.
This workshop is co-sponsored by Easton’s Nook. Registration is available at https://eastonsnook.com. Available dates are Fridays through Sundays between October 17 and December 14. If you have questions about the length or specific topics you would like to cover, email me before registering so we can plan the workshop around your needs.
